RETROMOBILE 2020: 50TH BIRTHDAY OF GS AND FIRST AUTOMOBILE CROSSING OF THE SAHARA
On the occasion of the Retromobile 2020 Show which is taking place from 5 to 9 February in Paris, Citroën is marking the 50th birthday of GS and celebrating the audacity of the first ever automobile crossing of the Sahara.
For the birthday of GS, which was launched in 1970, the Brand is unveiling Citroën GS by Tristan Auer for Les Bains, a car entrusted to the interior designer to transform it.
In addition, the spirit of adventure is in the air with the display of the replica of the Golden Scarab, the first ever vehicle to have crossed the Sahara in 1922. To echo this incredible exploit, a very special announcement will be made during the press conference on 4 February at 21:00 on the Citroën stand. -
Ë.PIC, THE ELECTRIC CRUISE OF THE SAHARA!
100 years after the first Saharan cruise by automobile, Citroën is embarking on a new challenge, that of repeating the achievement in electric mode: Ë.PIC. This project with a human and a technological dimension, is planned for the dates of the first cruise’s anniversary: from 19 December 2022 to 7 January 2023. Ë.PIC (Ë.POPÉE in French) was unveiled on 4 February at the press conference organised on the Citroën stand at Retromobile.
Same destination, same audacity, same ambition. The objective is not a speed race, but rather a human adventure on board 3 types of vehicle highlighting the past, the present and the future.
At the start line:
- Two replica half-tracks from the 1st crossing: Golden Scarab and Silver Crescent,
- Electric vehicles from production for assistance, from the 2022 Citroën range,
- And a 100% electric future concept car. -
CITROËN 19_19 CONCEPT, LE VOYAGE IN Ë-COMFORT MODE
Following Ami One Concept revealed last February and embodying the urban electric mobility, Citroën is presenting 19_19 Concept, expressing Citroën’s vision of ultra-comfort and extended mobility to escape from thecities.
A true Brand manifesto, 19_19 Concept is an unconventional expression lying outside traditional automotive cues; a technological aerodynamic object with exceptional proportions and a spectacular, suspended and transparent capsule design inspired by the world of aviation.
The new concept car illustrates ultra-comfort at the service of tomorrow’s mobility, through its design and its technologies. -
